chiseled from solid rock感觉就是一个东西从石头上剥离或者分离出来的，那A和B的主语发出者是regions就不合逻辑了；C的are dotting用进行时态不合适，题目没有强调是正在进行，D的一般现在时态也不好，因为它说是centuries ago.所以选E。

C选项monastery是不能dot mountainous regions的，只能是mountainous regions are dotted with hundreds monasteries
B的逻辑主语也错
错选B，B中的many hundreds of...redundancy，去掉many更好；D中是过去式所以不能用are，选E。
D 时态啊时态！！！
请问大家，E选项中的many of them chiseled from solid rock centuries ago.是什么语法形式呢？独立主格吗？因为我一开始纠结DE以为E逗号连接两个句子所以把它排除了。。
应该是独立主格，chiseled是过去分词形式
